Areas of expertise
I am an evolutionary biologist with expertise in the ecology and evolution of insect's heritable symbionts. My research focuses on the interactions between Wolbachia bacteria and their dipteran hosts (fruit flies and mosquitoes). I also have a strong interest in field applications using symbiont-based strategies to control insect pests and vector-borne diseases. I use a variety of approaches to study symbionts, from experimental biology, molecular biology to high-throughput sequencing techniques.
