Did a master and PhD in Biology at Ghent University. Research focuses on evolutionary morphology of vertebrates, with special focus on adaptive evolution in the feeding and locomotory system across all kinds of vertebrate lineages. More recently, this research has expanded towards bio-inspired research that springs from vertebrate musculoskeletal anatomy.
